What is an artist?

We are definitely not qualified to define an artist in absolute terms, but in the context of AIDGAR we consider an artist as an entity having these two characteristics:

• a set of skills for creating art
• a personal vision, or taste in art

An AI that can create art

Giving the AI the skills to visually represent what it sees. A bit like a “naïve” artist, an AI with these skills has at its disposal a number of techniques it can use to recreate the world as it sees it. AIDGAR doesn’t base these reproductions on any other art it has seen before. Instead, they are what is possible to do based on what skills it has.
