Sketchbooking and plants

The course was alright, but I am not James Chapman, so I needed to do something that is closer to what I like painting, and that’s plants and animals!

I wasn’t too happy with the cardinal’s dark background and I tried a lighter one this time, by picking up a marker that I thought was going to be light grey, but was actually silver :)

This one started when I was stuck in the living room with no other inspiration other than a tissue box made out of bamboo. I later searched for a nice panda illustration to shamelessly copy in order to make something more “complete”.

I played around with simple forms and avoided all backgrounds, as they really need a good marker technique – and probably good markers.

This final piece I did that day is probably my favourite of the “series”.
