Stones

Painting on stones?

I brought my acrylic markers with me to Greece, not sure what I was going to do with them. After a walk on the beach I got the idea of painting on pebbles we gathered with my family.

First try was inspired by typical stone painting subjects and the awe of my son when seeing the sky being pink yesterday. Here’s a sunset on a pebble:

It’s nice, but I think real inspiration hit me a bit later, when I decided to paint a second, smaller stone with a parrot. I let my hand decide on how to finish/fix something and it chose the gold outline, that I find absolutely awesome.

I can’t wait to go back to the beach and get some more pebbles :)
