Water colors - Cats! 🐈🐆🐅

I’ve been trying watercolors for a week now since, I bought a nice portable kit. They ARE fun, and logistics wise they’re as easy as it gets. I even bought some refillable watercolor brush pen/marker, that make logistics even easier. Still, I’m not extremely happy with what I’m making. Maybe I’m just more and more demanding of myself?

Anyway, after a portrait that came out of nowhere, I was sort of uninspired, until I decided to get back to what had given me pleasure before (see examples I and II and III): CATS!!!!

And then three different levels of success in coloring with watercolors:

I think we can honestly say, some cats were luckier than others in this… 🙄 (poor 1st cat, I’m sorry for what you went through).

Anyway, I’m quite happy with how the black & white and the sleeping cat turned out, and I think I really like painting cats. I’ve started understanding their anatomy, and this helps with confidence. As for watercolors, I think I might go back to acrylics for the next one. Hope you like them, too!
